REMEMBERING THE VICTIMS OF REPRESSION — A SYMBOL OF NATIONAL IDENTITY AND PATRIOTISM
Today, an educational and awareness-raising seminar entitled “Fostering Patriotism Among the Younger Generation Through Commemorating the Victims of Repression” was held at the Abdulla Avloni Institute.
The seminar highlighted the lives and contributions of prominent national intellectuals who fought for the freedom of the Uzbek people, the preservation of national values and the advancement of enlightenment. Participants discussed the fate of intellectuals, dedicated teachers, and advocates of enlightenment who were persecuted during the years of repression, as well as their role in shaping the nation's spiritual and cultural life.
As emphasised during the seminar, preserving historical memory, studying the legacy of our ancestors, and passing on their life stories to younger generations are essential for strengthening national identity, fostering patriotism and cultivating a sense of responsibility for the future of the country.
Historical memory is the foundation of a nation’s spiritual identity, while the legacy of our ancestors remains an invaluable lesson for future generations!
